The research team of Prof. Lam Hon-Ming of CUHK specializes in climate-smart agriculture, plant and agrobiotechnology, and genomic studies on crop-environment interaction using soybean as main research material. This programme covers the introduction of the origin of soybeans, the importance of soybean in Chinese history and food culture, and the overview of several important turning points of soybean development in China. It also discusses the developmental trend of soybeans around the world, as well as the soybean scientific research worldwide. Here, soybean scientific research is the starting point to signify the importance of connection among science, humanistic care and humanistic value, and demonstrate an integrated interdisciplinary STEAM education model.
