Rock cavern development is one of the Government’s multi-pronged land supply approaches through the creation of additional space in rock caverns for housing a variety of suitable facilities while releasing the surface ground for other land uses to support the development needs. Through demonstration of various local/ overseas applications of cavern developments and relevant plans and studies carried out by the Government, this programme introduces to the public the benefits and technical considerations of rock cavern developments in Hong Kong.
