The explosive volcanic activity during the Mesozoic era not merely formed hexagonal columns in Sai Kung, which made Hong Kong to be designated as a member of the Global Geoparks Network, but also closely related to Hong Kong urban development. The workshop will be divided into two sessions: participants will learn the theory of plate tectonics and volcanic eruption through interactive games in the former part. Also, there will be an introduction to the geological history of Hong Kong. In the latter part, participants will do a DIY Volcanic eruption experiment.
