The Drainage Services Department provides flood protection and sewage collection, treatment and discharge services for Hong Kong, with the ambition to "provide world-class sewage and stormwater treatment and discharge services to promote the sustainable development of Hong Kong". DSD has always been committed to using different advanced technologies to generate renewable energy in its sewage and stormwater treatment facilities, thereby reducing its carbon footprint and helping to mitigate climate change. This talk will focus on the latest developments in the DSD's use of renewable energy, including related challenges, technologies used and effectiveness.
