Are what we see through our eyes real or virtual? The objective of this programme is to introduce our audiences the exciting challenges of future optics through 3D light field technology and how does it influence the way we see the world around us and used in various latest visual technologies.
The programme is a combination of onsite visit to our company at the Incubator of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP), an appreciation of the principles of 3D light field technology that could be understood by the public, and a demonstration of how it works.
An understanding of light is always fascinating. The programme should be of particular interest to STEM teachers to show how a better understanding of optics principle can inspire students change the way we look and interact with the world in both the physical and biological realm. Examples of applications are drawn from naked eye 3D movie, holography, metaverse, Lidar, Automatic Optical Inspection, biological microscopy to medical surgery.
