In recent years, we have already conducted many researches regarding the implementation of eco-shoreline in Hong Kong, in order to provide habitat for marine ecological animals, and enhances bio-diversity and ecosystem functions.
Eco-shoreline is a win-win measure to incorporate ecological concepts into the design of an artificial shoreline. We have invited Mr. LAM Chi Kuen, Senior Engineer at Civil Engineering & Development Department, and Prof. Kenneth Mei Yee Leung, Director of State Key Laboratory of Marine Pollution, to introduce and share the idea of eco-shoreline and its preliminary achievement in Hong Kong.
